The Namesys people were sponsored/paid for their work on the reiserfs
resizer.

Ted Tso was paid to write the e2fs resizer with the agreement that he
be able to release it sometime later.

If people wanted to dontate (paypal or whatever) to a fund I'm sure we
could get someone to do this for XFS. The same is probably true for
JFS.
