GRUB does not install correctly if you're using software raid. RH has added 'special code' to anaconda to install GRUB on MD anyway. If you try it later 'by hand' you'll fail. The other problem is that even with the RedHat trick, GRUB is only installed in the MBR on the first disk. If this one fails, you can not boot from the second like you can when using LILO.
