Sorry, my last mailw as a bit misleading - where I said there will be
a failing test program near:

configure:3461: checking uuid/uuid.h usability

I meant near:

configure:XXXX: checking uuid/uuid.h presence

"presence" being the key difference there.

Just below that line, there should be the text of a C program and some
compiler error messages - like there is for the uuid.h test you've sent
there.  It'll be in the config.log file, not a separate file.  In fact,
just sending me your entire config.log file might be simpler.
