xfs_repair should not be required in this case, if for some reason it is required and these files are not being dealt with properly then it's a bug. --cw

that does mean that it was not cleanly unmounted, and it is using the journal/log for recovery. This is normal xfs operation. It should not; xfs is designed to replay the log to get a consistent file
