Yep, Marcello said that all changes that are present in the 2.4.24-pre kernels are postponed due to the recent security issues and will re-appear in the 2.4.25-pre patches. I do appreaciate this step

This was discussed on some other lists. It looks like Marcelo keeps a seperate tree with just critial updates in order to be able to push out a new kernel quickly in an emergency. I think this is an

The available split patches for 2.4.23 (2003-12-01 00:33 UTC) apply fairly cleanly to the pristine 2.4.24. The only reject is the Makefile EXTRAVERSION change, which is trivial to repair by hand. I h

and only if you apply -misc, which is not even required. ive read the entire diff of 2.4.23 -> 2.4.24, see for yourself, its VERY trivial stuff, XFS requires no changes. summary: * one line memset()
