- Did you use default mkfs parameters on xfs? Try upping the log size: mkfs -t xfs -f -l size=32768b ..... Also try mount -o logbufs=8 .... The multiple test dirs will make xfs spread out all over the

- Big difference With your mkfs settings and mount options, the same synctest finishes in real 97.64 user 2.20 sys 30.19 That's close to a 10x difference from the original numbers Can't tell you about

- Thats somewhat of a relief, we should be able to get closer to ext3 than that, but at least it puts us in the same ballpark. That's OK, if our 2 week old lets me I might be able to try ext3 myself, j
